BRIAN SYLVESTER

VOCALS + RYTHMN GUITAR

Brian is new to Colorado, but not to the stage. He spent many years as a key player in the Las Vegas regional rock scene, playing in bands like Smashing Alice and DuoVer.

As the lead singer for Between the Lines, Brian handles the vocals out front while also covering rhythm guitar.

Brian has many music influences, but his real love is his family.

J.T. JONES

LEAD GUITAR

J.T. joined Between the Lines in 2026, but he’s been part of the Denver music scene for years, playing with bands including My Wave, Playback, REMember, and Watersong.

Now based in Firestone, J.T. handles lead guitar and vocal harmonies. He’s behind the guitar parts people recognize immediately and the harmonies that help hold the band’s sound together. Originally from the South, J.T. has found a home in the Rockies — and brings a little southern gentleman energy with him.

GARY SKILES

BASS GUITAR

Gary has a broad musical history, having played in numerous and diverse groups across Northern Colorado, North Texas and Arkansas.

He makes a huge impact in BTL by laying down the solid bass lines. When he isn’t on stage, he brings that same commitment to his community.

KEVIN KICK

DRUMS

Kevin holds down the beat for Between the Lines and works behind the scenes to coordinate the business side of the band.

He played extensively during his college years before taking a short 30-year break for a career in the U.S. Army.

These days, rehearsals happen in his basement, where he’s keeping time — and making up for lost time.

THE BAND.

FOUR PLAYERS • ROCK + COUNTRY

COLORADO FRONT RANGE

It’s the kind of music that sticks around — 90s and 2000s rock, alternative, and country.Tonic. Collective Soul. Foo Fighters. Hootie & the Blowfish. Tom Petty. Alanis. Eric Church. Keith Urban. Matchbox Twenty. Goo Goo Dolls.

Songs people know before the first chorus is over.

The band brings together years of live experience from Colorado, Denver, Las Vegas, North Texas, Arkansas, and regional rock scenes. That experience shows up in the details — strong vocals, guitar parts that sound like the record, solid rhythm, and harmonies that hold the songs together.

Sets are built around the room. Bars, breweries, festivals, private events, and live music venues all call for something a little different.

FAMILIAR SONGS DONE RIGHT.

SEE YOU AT THE SHOW.

HOW IT STARTED.

The band came together in 2025 after its members connected through a Colorado Facebook group for musicians looking for other people to play with. What started with four musicians finding each other online turned into regular rehearsals in drummer Kevin's basement and, in 2026, the band’s first run of public shows around the Front Range.

Today the band’s members are based in Erie, Firestone and Fort Collins, with a distinctly Front Range home base and a focus on playing breweries, festivals, community events, private events and other local stages.

Although Between the Lines itself is new, its members aren’t new to playing live. Together they bring years of experience from Colorado, Denver, Las Vegas, North Texas, Arkansas and other regional music scenes.

THE PLAYERS.

Between the Lines brings together four players with different musical backgrounds, one shared approach: get the parts right, support the song, and make the whole thing work together.
